Only one weekend left of the Skagit County Tulip Festival. All of April the Skagit County region is blooming with millions of colorful bulbs.Tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other bulbs are spread out in massive farm fields. Most of the farms open their doors for a couple of dollars per person for tours. You can peruse the fields, grab a bite to eat at vending stations, and order tulips from their retail store. The tulips will be shipped to you in the fall (the best season for planting bulbs that will come up next spring).
Then take the driving tour around the rest of the valley for breathtaking views of rainbow colors as far as the eye can see.
It is a three hour drive from Thurston county to just north of Seattle. Mt. Vernon is the biggest town on the tour. The town itself is tiny, but we found an amazing Italian restaurant for lunch, Il Granaio. It boasts a four course meal for only $15.You get homemade bread, soup or salad, a gourmet entree made from pasta made in-house, and a dessert all for one low price.Good luck finishing it all.The quality is worthy of a much higher price, but you don't hear me complaining.Il Granaio is a must-stop along your journey.

" Brandi spent an entire Saturday running my husband (who had just flown in for a couple days from Connecticut) all around to different towns near and far from the Olympia area. She was very friendly and professional in every interaction we have had, and she always looked out for our best interests. I believe she sincerely wanted to help us find the perfect house to suit our preferences. In addition, she drove to several homes that we were interested in and made videos so that we could get a clear idea of what the houses and neighborhoods were like. I wholeheartedly recommend working with Brandi! Best experience we've ever had with a realtor, hands down. "
