It All Started in DuPont

It All Started in DuPont

If you love the Puget Sound area, do yourself a favor and check out the DuPont Museum to see how it all began!! The DuPont Historical Society has been working hard to create a website that is content-rich with history, timelines, photos, news and events. Be sure to check out the section called Homework Helpers which provides learners (of all ages!) with information on the history of the local Native American, the Hudson Bay Company and DuPont Company eras.

The DuPont Historical Society's mission statement is to preserve, interpret and promote the historical heritage of the City of DuPont and surrounding areas for present and future generations. We think the website is a great tool in this endeavor! In recent letter to Friends of the DuPont Museum, Society President, Lee McDonald, says,

It's a work in progress! I will be working with Drew Crooks on a new introduction for the home page and a new history page. A big thanks to Ron DeRose, our webmaster and to Joh Jones our museum manager for vetting our website information and ensuring it contains factual and unbiased history.

The Museum is located at 207 Barksdale Ave, DuPont 98327, and visiting hours are:

  • Wednesday, Friday, Sunday 1 PM to 4 PM
  • Thursday 11 AM to 4 PM

You can also call 253-964-2399 to arrange a special tour.
