Fort Nisqually History Presentation

Fort Nisqually History Presentation

Did you know that Fort Nisqually was the first European trading post on the Puget Sound?

Here is an opportunity to discover more about DuPont’s early history by attending a free presentation given by historian Drew Crooks on Sunday, October 16 at 2 p.m. at the DuPont Community Presbyterian Church. Crooks will give an illustrated presentation on the history of Fort Nisqually, which was the Hudson’s Bay Company post on Puget Sound. Affecting both people and environment, this frontier trading station left a strong legacy that endures to the present day.

The event is free to the public but donations are accepted. DuPont Community Presbyterian Church is located at 502 Barksdale Avenue in DuPont, Wash. For more information about this event or how to become a member of the DuPont Historical Society contact Johanna Jones at 253-964-2399 (weekdays) or Lee McDonald at 253-267-5265 (evenings and weekends) or visit  www.dupontmuseum.com.
